AKC URBAN CANINE TEST (CGCU)

  • Exit/enter doorways with no pulling in dog-friendly buildings
  • Walkthrough a crowd on a busy urban sidewalk
  • The appropriate reaction to city distractions.  This includes movement, noises, and walking on a variety of surfaces.  (horns, sirens, construction noise, people yelling, stake boards, etc.
  • Crossing street: Stop at corner, stand or sit to wait, cross without pulling
  • Ignore food on the sidewalk (dropped food)
  • A person walks up & pets your dog
  • Public Building that allows dogs. Walks nicely without pulling, ignores things carried
  • Stars. Steps or elevator
  • House trained for apartment, condo, city living
  • Transportation:  rides in a vehicle:  no barking, remain calm, exit/enters the vehicle
